Experience

Frances Arkle, nee Campbell, was born and educated in Northern Ireland. She became the first female graduate in Architecture from The Queen’s University of Belfast. Her architectural experience has included research and advisory posts. In the latter half of her career Frances specialised in agricultural building design with a special interest in the conservation and conversion of historic farm buildings.

After graduating from Chelsea College of Art she worked on community arts projects in Greenock and London making sculptures and painting murals.

As a glass artist Frances has worked on a variety of commissions. These include windows, decorative panels, light fittings for an Art Deco block and kiln formed platters. 

She has taken part in joint exhibitions in London and elsewhere showing her glass or paintings.
